Featured Evaluation Projects
The Philadelphia Academy of School Leaders is committed to continually evaluating its impact and using data to enhance its programs. We work with the School Leaders’ team to conduct formative evaluation to drive organizational reflection and improvement. To date, this work has focused on evaluation of the Neubauer Fellowship and the Teacher-Leader Collaborative Grants program.
We were commissioned by the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) to gather information on talent practices across the state. We conducted a mixed-methods evaluation, including a Talent Practices Survey and case studies on select districts to collect information on key elements of the talent pipeline.
We worked with The Office of School Improvement and Innovation at the School District of Philadelphia to evaluate the impact of the first cohort of schools participating in the School Redesign Initiative. We produced a series of case studies and a video to tell the story of impact. Read the full report here.
Featured Development Projects
We supported the design, implementation, and evaluation of the INVEST system in Aldine ISD in Houston, Texas. We used mixed methods to evaluate the impact the new system had on student achievement, teacher retention, teacher effectiveness, and teacher motivation and explored how these impacts varied by school factors and teacher individual characteristics.
The Social Impact Collaborative is a nine-month program for the William Penn Foundation grantees that builds their performance measurement capacity by supporting them to refine their strategy, evaluate their impact, and share their story with the broader community. Organizations are supported in six core components of performance measurement and impact evaluation: (1) Conducting research, (2) Creating a logic model, (3) Defining metrics and indicators of success, (4) Developing a data collection plan, (5) Analyzing data and institutionalizing data use, and (6) Telling the story of impact.
ImpactED has been an invaluable resource in capturing the nuanced, human perspective of our school redesign work. They’ve been diligent, flexible, and responsive in crafting a research project meant to go beyond the data to capture the compelling narratives and lessons learned of this work.
